Applying for your UAE freelance visa from abroad

Start your application before you travel. Here’s what to prepare and what to arrange with our team.

Find the activity that fits your work

Explore 100 freelance activities by name or code. In your application, choose up to two that describe the services you provide. Bring a few examples of your work to your consultation.

Our team will check your chosen combination and any qualification requirements with the Abu Dhabi freezone before you apply. Keep the official activity names and codes with your shortlist.

Get your documents ready

Prepare a clear colour passport copy, a recent white-background photo and proof of address. Include previous UAE visa or entry records where relevant and an education certificate if available. Upload them in your private application portal.

An experience letter or CV showing relevant professional experience is required after pre-approval. Some activities also need a relevant accredited degree or diploma; our team will explain what applies before you arrange translations or attestations.

Plan your budget and travel

The AED 14,999 package includes a two-year freelance licence and residence, medical examination and Emirates ID processing. Your first payment is AED 999 after document review, credited toward the package if pre-approval is approved. Budget separately for health insurance, travel and accommodation.

Confirm your next steps with our team before booking travel. We’ll help you coordinate the stages that require your presence, including medical and Emirates ID appointments. Timing depends on document readiness and the relevant authorities.
